Ghislaine Maxwell fails to obtain delay in unsealing documents
NEW YORK (Reuters) – A U.S. judge on Wednesday rejected Ghislaine Maxwell’s request for a three-week delay in the unsealing of additional documents related to her dealings with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Lawyers for the British socialite, who faces criminal charges she aided Epstein’s sexual abuses, had on Monday said “critical new information” had surfaced that could affect Maxwell’s ability to obtain a fair trial, justifying the delay.
But in a two-page order, U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska in Manhattan said she had no reasonable basis to order a delay, because a protective order in the criminal case meant the new information could not be disclosed.
Lawyers for Maxwell did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

New York Post – Jeffrey Epstein “sex slave” Virginia Giuffre claimed that sex with foot-licking fetishist Prince Andrew was “the longest 10 minutes of my life,” according to a new report.
Giuffre made the lurid claim in a manuscript for “The Billionaire’s Playboy Club’” — her memoir about her alleged abuse at the hands of the late multimillionaire, his accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell and rich and powerful men, including the prince.
That manuscript is cited in court documents unsealed in New York last week.
Roberts, 36, wrote that during her encounters with the Duke of York, when she was only 17, he would be “adorning my young body, particularly my feet, caressing my toes and licking my arches,” according to The Sun.
Then, she alleged, “It wasn’t hard to get him wound up to the point where he just wanted to have the rest of me so we dried off from the cold and retired to my bedchambers for the longest 10 minutes of my life.”
“Moments later and without any real emotional attachment, he burst in ecstasy, leaving me to my own feelings of dismay,” she wrote. “As relieved as I was to see the experience come to pass with him, it was finally sinking in that I would never be anything more than but a muse … ” Read more.

Insider – Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was forced to have sexual relations with Prince Andrew at age 17, opened up about her experience on “being trafficked” and implored the British public to stand behind her.
Giuffre, who was previously known as Virginia Roberts, appeared on the BBC’s “Panorama” to detail her alleged sexual abuse.
“I implore the people in the UK to stand up beside me, to help me fight this fight, to not accept this as being ok,” she said.
“This is not some sordid sex story,” Giuffre told the BBC. “This is a story of being trafficked. This is a story of abuse, and this is a story of your guys’ royalty.”
Giuffre claimed that as teenager she was a victim caught in an alleged sex trafficking ring organized by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein and Maxwell have denied Giuffre’s claims. (Giuffre sued Maxwell in 2015 for defamation over Maxwell calling her a liar, after Giuffre claimed that Epstein and Maxwell sexually abused her as a minor.)
Epstein died by suicide in federal prison in August; he had been charged with two counts related to sex trafficking in July, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Prince Andrew’s friendship with Epstein came under scrutiny following the July charges. He previously said in a statement that he regrets his “ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein.”
In the BBC interview, Giuffre described her experience as a “really scary time” in her life, feeling “chained” into the operation.
“I had just been abused by a member of the royal family. So when you talk about these chains; yeah, I wasn’t chained to a sink but these powerful people were my chains,” she said in the interview, The Daily Beast reported. “I couldn’t comprehend how in the highest levels in the government powerful people were allowing this to happen, not only allowing it to happen but participating in it.”
