Daily Wire News – CNN host Chris Cuomo said on Friday that police reform in the U.S. will not happen until “white people’s kids start getting killed.”
[According to statista.com, year after year, nearly twice as many white Americans are shot to death by police as blacks. In 2020 for example, 457 whites were shot to death by police compared with 241 blacks. – Ed.]
Cuomo made the remarks in the context of a couple of recent police shootings where suspects did not comply with law enforcement or attempted to run. Cuomo said:
“And you know what the answer is … Shootings, gun laws, access to weapons? Oh, I know when they’ll change.”
“Your kids start getting killed. White people’s kids start getting killed. Smoking that doobie that’s actually legal, probably in your state now, but they don’t know what it was, and then the kid runs, and then ‘Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!’ Cop was justified … ”

Antioch police officer shoots man during mental health call
Police say man charged officers with a knife and that Taser didn’t slow him down

Bay Area News Group – A man who was the subject of a mental health call was shot by an Antioch (California) police officer and hospitalized Friday morning, authorities said.
Police said the man was in stable condition after being rushed to a hospital in an ambulance. They did not immediately identify the officer who fired the weapon.
Antioch police said the shooting happened because the man charged at officers with a knife, and that another officer’s attempt to use a Taser did little to stop him.
It all happened after two officers responded to a 12:50 a.m. call from a family in a second-floor apartment unit in the 200 block of W. 3rd Street reporting that a 45-year-old family member was having a mental health crisis.
According to police, the man emerged from the kitchen as the officers entered the residence and was holding a knife and expressing a desire to die.
