RED STATE – On Thursday, Health and Human Services Secretary-nominee Robert F. Kennedy sat before yet another Senate committee to answer questions, and it went about as well as expected.
When Kennedy appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday, he was questioned by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who went on a wild rant about whether he supported onesies with an anti-vax message on them. It was comedy gold.
Sadly, Sanders also sits on the Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) Committee, so he had a chance to dig deeper into the mystery of the onesies and other matters.
Broken Record Bernie wants universal healthcare, with the rallying cry, “Health Care for All!”
In Sanders’ five-minute rant on Thursday, he rambled on about how the healthcare system was corrupt and tried to box Kennedy into guaranteeing that healthcare is a human right.
Kennedy pushed back on his line of questioning, exposing Sanders’ hypocrisy on the topic of corruption.
Sanders tried to pull that “small donor” and grassroots citizens schtick, but campaign finance filings don’t lie.
Open Secrets shows that between 1990 and 2024, Sanders collected $1,953,613 in pharmaceutical donations. Sanders is among the Top 20 political recipients of Big Pharma’s largesse.
This list includes the good “Rev-ER-Rund” Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who raked in $1,763,425 over that period while spouting about Kennedy’s conspiracy theories and Kennedy’s insults to the CDC, Warnock’s hometown bureaucracy.
Let’s not forget Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who collected $1,616,081 while looking down her nose at Kennedy for his “dangerous views” …
