Conway man allegedly attacked a stranger with frozen pizza rolls at a Walmart in SC

Jeremiah Harris, 27, was arrested for third degree assault and battery, assault of a high and aggravated nature and disorderly conduct.

MYRTLE BEACH ONLINE – On Dec. 31 around 12:45 p.m., a 42-year-old woman and 66-year-old man were headed to check out at Walmart when they asked which lane Jeremiah Harris was in, according to police.

Harris responded “with profanity.” When the pair went to check out, Harris allegedly hit the man with a grocery bag containing frozen pizza rolls. The man reacted in self defense and Harris hit him in the face, which put the victim on the ground.

Harris then kicked and stomped on the man. The woman tried to intervene but was also struck …

The incident report did not state what kinds of injuries the man received but said Harris caused “great bodily harm.”

Meanwhile, second victim, who only wanted to be identified as “Mr. George,” was taken to a hospital by EMS. Those injuries also now threaten to leave him without a kidney.

One of his kidneys was removed when he was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago – and now George said he worries about what could come if his remaining kidney is damaged too badly.

“I’ve only got the one kidney, and I might lose this one now because of the incident, and go on dialysis for the rest of my life,” he said. “Or try to find a donor or something like that. We’ll have to see how that works out.”

George said he isn’t sure how long he’ll be at the hospital, but is encouraging people to be careful. He added that he hopes justice is served for his alleged attacker.

“They go to jail, then pay my medical bills,” he said. “I’m going to have a ton of them.”
