Biden invokes holy sacrament in false attack on McCarthy

HEADLINE HEALTH – President Joe Biden invoked a holy sacrament of the Roman Catholic Church yesterday in the course of deriding Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy.

Biden’s remarks, accompanied by the hand gesture known as the sign of the cross, elicited laughter from those present for his meeting with Steamfitters Local 602
of Springfield, Virginia.

The president’s bizarre reference to the rite of confession came as he claimed — falsely — that McCarthy and House Republicans are considering a 30 percent national sales tax:

That’s right — they want to raise taxes on working- and middle-class people in America by passing a national sales tax, taxing every item from groceries, gasoline, clothing, supplies, medicine, even big-ticket items like rent and cars. Thirty percent sales tax on all of those issu- — all those pieces.

“Do you think — and, by the way, I thought I heard today on the — the Speaker of the House says he’s not sure he’s for it now. (Laughter.)

“Bless me, Father, for he has sinned. I tell you, I — (laughter and applause). There is redemption.

The Republican Speaker says he’s not so sure he’s for it.”

We wonder if Biden’s mocking of a holy sacrament of the Catholic Church will be on his conscience the next time he enters the confessional to participate in the actual sacrament.
