New menu items from Subway, Starbucks and Panera Bread

Operators are expanding their menus with offerings centered around protein and convenience.

FOOD BUSINESS NEWS, KANSAS CITY — Sandwich chain Subway has revitalized its Fresh Fit menu with a new line of sandwiches.

The menu includes varieties like:

  • grilled chicken and avocado with 35 grams of protein,
  • seasoned steak and avocado with 35 grams of protein,
  • turkey and ranch delight with 26 grams of protein, and
  • ham and turkey stacker with 20 grams of protein.

Each six-inch sandwich also contains less than 500 calories.

“Eating healthy often means paying a premium, planning ahead or sacrificing flavor and taste,” said Paul Fabre, senior vice president of global culinary and innovation at Subway.

“With the return of Fresh Fit to Subway’s menu, our guests can feel confident that there is a convenient, delicious option crafted for them at a great price — and one their macros will love even more.”
