The bottle was over half-full, according to the grandmother

Fox News – A 4-year-old child in Louisiana died on Thursday after her grandmother allegedly forced her to finish off a bottle of whiskey after believing the child could have taken a sip.

The Baton Rouge Police said the mother of China Record, 4, watched her drink the over half-full bottle of whiskey, according to Fox affiliate WGMB.

The 4-year-old girl’s blood alcohol level was .680 when police officers arrived at the family’s home on Thursday morning …

On April 21, 2022 around 10:50am Baton Rouge Police Uniformed Officers were dispatched to 12824 Wallis St relative to an unresponsive toddler.

The toddler, CHINA RECORD, 4 years of age, died at the scene. During the course of the investigation detectives learned that the victims’ [sic] grandmother forced her to consume a bottle of alcohol (Whiskey) while the mother watched.

Detectives believe the consuming of alcohol caused China’s death. The victims [sic] BAC was .680.

The victim’s grandmother, ROXANNE RECORD, 53 and the victim’s mother, KADJAH RECORD, 28 BOTH OF 12824 WALLIS ST were booked into East Baton Rouge Prison for 1st Degree Murder around 2:00AM this morning.

This is an ongoing investigation.
