25-Year-Old Man Dead After Fall at Waterfall in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park

The incident took place on Sunday at West Creek Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park, according to the National Park Service

PEOPLE – A 25-year-old man has died at a waterfall in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, officials have confirmed.

The National Park Service issued a statement on Monday which said that the fall took place at West Creek Falls, located on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The man involved in the incident — who was from Providence, Rhode Island — died after falling at the waterfall and being pulled underwater on Sunday.

According to officials, his body was recovered on Sunday night and on Monday, was flown by the Northern Colorado Interagency Helitak to the Upper Beaver Meadows area of the park, before being transferred to Larimer County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office.

The man has not been officially identified and his official cause of death is still to be determined by coroners. Park officials also said his name will be released only once his next of kin are notified … READ MORE.

Oregon man dies, children hospitalized after fall from Oregon Coast cliffside

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A 36-year-old man is dead, and two children were hospitalized after a group from Grants Pass fell from a cliffside along the Southern Oregon Coast on April 22, 13 miles north of Brookings.

Curry County Sheriff John Ward stated that the man, Ryan Acord, was attempting to hike to Secret Beach with his wife and three children when the group became lost.

While using the trail, Acord and all three children slipped from the adjacent cliffside, causing Acord and 8-year-old family friend Nolan Haptonstall to fall roughly 200 feet to the beach below.

“The family and a small juvenile friend were all from Grants Pass and they were looking for Secret Beach but missed it and went down a trail north of Secret Beach,” Ward said. “They wanted to get to the beach, but unfortunately they were on the wrong trail and made a terrible decision which created the unfortunate situation” … READ MORE.
