Meghan unleashes anti-Trump rant in eulogy
| “America was always great”
| The Hill – Meghan McCain took several swipes at President Trump during a fiery eulogy.
“America does not boast because she does not have need to.
“The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again, because America was always great,” Meghan McCain said to applause at the National Cathedral.
“The America of John McCain is the America of the boys who rushed the colors in every war across three centuries,” she said [in a thinly veiled reference to the fact that Trump is not a veteran. Meghan made no such implication in regard to fellow eulogist and non-vet Barack Obama – Editor].
Meghan spoke as mourners gathered, including Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner.
Meghan told attendees that “we gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness.”
“The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege,” she added.
