Schwarzenegger Stable After Heart Emergency

LOS ANGELES — Arnold Schwarzenegger was recovering at Cedars Sinai Medical Center on Friday after undergoing heart surgery.

According to spokesman Daniel Ketchell, Schwarzenegger’s first words when he woke up after surgery were “I’m back.”

Schwarzenegger, 70, went to the hospital Thursday for a planned procedure.

“That 1997 replacement valve outlived its life expectancy, so he chose to replace it,” Ketchell said.

“During that procedure, an open-heart surgery team was prepared in case the catheter procedure was unable to be performed.

“Governor Schwarzenegger’s valve was successfully replaced and he is currently recovering from the surgery and is in stable condition.” Read the full story at dailynews.com. Image: Joerg Koch, CC BY 2.0.
